Carmen
Dear audience!
On April 16, one of the most vibrant and dramatic masterpieces of the world opera repertoire — Georges Bizet’s Carmen — will be performed on the stage of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In the role of Don José, Italian tenor ALESSANDRO FANTONI, an artist of the European opera scene, will appear — a singer whose name is associated with impeccable vocal training, refined musical phrasing, and profound dramatic temperament.
His stage career spans leading theatres across Europe — from the Danish National Opera to stages in Italy, Egypt, and Tunisia. His repertoire includes key roles of the Italian operatic tradition: Alfredo, the Duke, Rodolfo, Cavaradossi, Manrico, and others.
A laureate of prestigious international competitions, including the renowned “Una voce per l’Arena”, he consistently confirms his status as a high-level performer.
Don José, in his interpretation, is not merely a role but a deeply psychological journey of a character, where every musical phrase is filled with inner tension and every note conveys emotional truth.
This evening is a meeting with authentic operatic artistry, where music becomes destiny and the stage transforms into a space of powerful human emotion.
We look forward to welcoming you to an evening that promises to become a landmark event of high operatic culture.
