On April 30 at 7:00 PM, the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abay will present one of the most vibrant and dramatic operas in the world repertoire, Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Trovatore.

This work is a true pinnacle of Italian operatic mastery, where passion, love, fateful circumstances, and tragedy intertwine in a powerful musical drama that has captivated audiences for over a century.

This evening, the audience will be treated to performances by internationally renowned guest soloists, whose mastery lends the production special depth and artistic expressiveness.

The role of Manrico will be performed by Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Aliyev, a leading soloist with the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Azerbaijan State Musical Theatre. He is renowned for his wide operatic repertoire and profound dramatic interpretations, among which the role of Manrico occupies a special place as one of the most emotionally charged characters on the world stage.

The role of Azucena will be performed by mezzo-soprano Laura Haque Bustamante, winner of international competitions, Grand Prix winner of the XI International Competition of Young Musicians “Musical Vladivostok 2020,” and soloist of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. Her work is distinguished by vibrant dramatic expressiveness, a subtle musical sense, and extensive stage experience at leading opera venues.
