Presentation of the album ‘Zher-Ana Tynysy

On April 9 at 7:00 PM, the ARTE Gallery at the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre will host the presentation of the cultural and musical project — the album “Zher-Ana Tynysy”, presented by Zarina Altynbayeva, Honoured Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The project “Zher-Ana Tynysy” is a significant cultural event dedicated to interpreting and promoting Kazakh musical heritage. During the evening, audiences will be introduced to an album that brings together works from different historical periods: ancient folk songs reconstructed from archival materials, examples of the national classical tradition, and compositions by contemporary composers.

The concept of the project is rooted in the continuity of cultural traditions and their renewal within today’s artistic space. Through the language of music, the album conveys national memory, spiritual values, and the sonic image of the Kazakh steppe.

The concert programme will feature distinguished cultural figures and professional musicians:

• Tungyshbai Zhamankulov — People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, State Prize laureate, and master of the spoken word;
• Baluan Berkenov — soloist of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre;
• Laura Alpysbayeva — concertmaster;
• the chamber ensemble MAVRIDIS QUARTET;
• folk instrumental performers Aigerim Dairabayeva and Zhalgasbek Iles.

The project “Zher-Ana Tynysy” reveals the evolution of Kazakh musical art, highlighting the connection between traditional song culture and contemporary musical thinking. Particular attention is given to engaging the younger generation in preserving and developing national cultural values.
