Almaty Celebrated the Jubilee of Olzhas Suleimenov

Yesterday, the Abay Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre hosted a gala concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the prominent writer, poet, public figure, and diplomat Olzhas Omarovich Suleimenov.

On the eve of the festive evening, Ainur Sailaubayevna Kopbasarova, Director of the Abay Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre, congratulated Olzhas Omarovich on his jubilee on behalf of the theatre’s team. She expressed profound respect and gratitude for his invaluable contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s literature, culture, and public thought.

A themed exhibition dedicated to the life and creative journey of the jubilee celebrant was organized in the theatre lobby. Guests had the opportunity to explore archival materials, photographs, and significant milestones in the biography of the outstanding author.

The festive evening brought together well-known artists, musicians, actors, and the country’s creative ensembles on one stage. The program featured works dedicated to Olzhas Suleimenov, poetic tributes, archival video footage, as well as vibrant musical and choreographic performances by the bands “ULYTAU”, “Hassak”, “Rise”, the “Karakat” children’s choir, Roza Rymbaeva, Alibek Dnishev, and other prominent art figures.

Organized by the Akimat of Almaty, this evening was not only a tribute to the great master of the word but also a true celebration of culture, uniting generations in recognition of Olzhas Suleimenov’s legacy.
