The Gala Choir performance "Yapurai" was held at the Abai Kazakh Scientific and Technical Theater for a delegation from China
On April 7, the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abai hosted the gala performance “Yapurai.” Organized by the Almaty City Akimat, headed by Satybaldy City Akim Darkhan Amangeldievich, the performance honored the official delegation from Shanghai, China’s largest metropolis, headed by Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng, who was making his first official visit to Almaty.
The evening’s program featured Kazakh folk songs and excerpts from national operas performed by the theater’s soloists and choir. A special place in the program was given to the pre-final piece, the Chinese cantata “Huanghe Ozeni Turaly Kantata” by composer Xi Xing Hai, which has become a symbol of cultural dialogue and friendship between Kazakhstan and China.
The gala performance “Yapurai” became a shining example of cultural exchange and underscored the importance of strengthening international cultural ties. Among the event’s honored guests were representatives of the official delegation from China, as well as the leadership of the city of Almaty.
