Dear friends!
We are delighted to present the upcoming theatre week that will open our April season. Each performance is a unique world filled with emotions, captivating stories, and exceptional musical masterpieces.
April 2 — Opera by G. Verdi «Un Ballo in Maschera»
Prepare to immerse yourself in an atmosphere of secret conspiracies, intrigue, and passionate emotions set against the backdrop of lavish masquerade balls and ominous prophecies. Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Un Ballo in Maschera” promises to be a true theatrical event. It is a story about love, fate, and betrayal, about how carelessness and dark forces can lead to tragic consequences. Verdi’s magnificent music, mesmerizing arias, and outstanding vocal performances will captivate the audience.
April 3 — Evening of One-Act Ballets
The magic of “Carmen Suite” by J. Bizet and R. Shchedrin is a powerful clash of freedom and passion, embodied in Alberto Alonso’s dynamic choreography. The ballet becomes not only a stage performance but also a philosophical reflection on a woman who chooses to live by her own rules despite tragic consequences.
The ballet “Scheherazade” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov transports us to Persia, where myths and legends come to life. The music of Rimsky-Korsakov and the choreography of Mikhail Fokine create a journey into a world of wonder, magic, and tragedy, where every movement becomes a step into a fairy-tale realm of destiny.
April 4 — F. Lehar Operetta «The Merry Widow»
The legendary operetta “The Merry Widow” by Franz Lehár is a vibrant embodiment of Viennese charm and elegance. A sparkling story where love, wealth, and intrigue intertwine in a lively and joyful performance. Elegant dances, delightful melodies, and witty dialogue create a festive atmosphere. Lehár’s music, from cheerful waltzes to lyrical arias, immerses the audience in a world of love and light-hearted misunderstandings.
April 5 — B. Eifman «Red Giselle»
“Red Giselle” tells the story of Russian ballerina Olga Spesivceva. The life of this extraordinary dancer, who was swept into the turmoil of revolution, emigrated from Russia, and after a series of personal tragedies and hardships ended up in a psychiatric institution, is deeply and masterfully portrayed by Boris Eifman. Through the language of psychological ballet theatre, the performance conveys the tragedy of a brilliant artist’s vulnerability in the face of fate, haunting memories, and inner fears.
